Anyone know of any web based SMS service so you can text to Thai phones, preferably free as they are free elsewhere in the world.

You can send SMS to Thai cell phones using Skype.

But Skype isn't free - you need to buy credit.
And you should also check the rates - sometimes to phone co. rates are cheaper than Skype.

I have TT&T telephone line.
I use TT&T maxnet.
You can open for free an account with maxnet.
i use their free SMS service from time to time.
You can sent 5 SMS messages per day for free with the maxnet account.
