Intrusion Attempts

PostAuthor: westerby » November 25, 2008, 12:33 am

I don't know whether this is a regular thing but I noticed four or five intrusion attempts on my laptop over the two days I've been back and it's not something that I've noted in previous years. Does anyone else get a regular occurrence of these alerts? I'm currently using Kaspersky Internet Security and the latest event is a Helkern worm from IP Address 202.250.21.226

Some firewalls dont list the intrusion attempts Bob, but should be stored somewhere in the log files.

Westerby, have you installed any new software or anything lately, or anything that could remotely call home from your laptop, I've done an ip check on the ip you listed, but drew up blanks, so probably cloaked or something.
Could well be something malicious, so may be worth a scan tonight, just to be on the safe side.

No nothing like that. I shall run a scan to see if anything gets pinged.

Thanks, chaps.
