Try these people. Sign up to their e-mails and they send you deals on tickets.

I use Eva Air because they fly direct and their In Flight Entertainment is good.

Remember prices also depend on what time of year you go.

I use Ebookers.com (.ie for Ireland) and have been for as long as I've been coming to Thailand and before that.

A quick check gives this example of £531.40 with Etihad. I based it on quite a short stay as it was all the calendar would allow (possibly too far ahead).

2009, along way away, who knows with the fuel prices how things will be,

I travel back and forth 3 - 4 times a year, I always shop around with the online sites,

Expedia, Lastminute, Ebookers, Asiatravelmarket and Travelbag, They mostly use the same airlines but the price can vary significantly for the same flight. Some of the more obscure sites look cheaper but they often dont include the taxes on there headline web page.

Try this company
http://www.emerald.travel/
Very good service.
Beware the FROM price, you have to add on taxes, and supplements.
Not much in it between the bucket shops, and if you travel with Thai a lot of the promotions they offer will only offer tickets with reduced air miles or no air miles.
Like the "W" class, the family ticket.
Sign up to Thai Airways, Royal Orchid frequent flyer, and you get another 10 kilo's, which is handy for the wife to pack more goods for the family.
You can book a ticket all the way through to Udon with Thai, and you will save a few bob, or stay in Bangkok for a couple of days to rest up.

Thai is very good, we always feel at home, but the in flight entertainment really needs upgrading.
I know a lot more of my mates are travelling with EVA Air, because of the modern In flight entertaiment.
I'm the same as Beer Monkey, I can't do stops, I prefer the trip in one hit.

What is 'W' class(Family Ticket) prenders,..? don't think i have had that one..any benefits to be had..?
Another reason for Thai is when the Mrs and son travel alone they take good care of things and the Mrs understands whats going on.
And yes Thai have poor inflight entertainment..when oh when will they move with the times..? would like seat screens and choice especially to keep the little one occupied..(and me of course).

I use to book up with the best deal about 2 months before I travel.

I found any sooner and the price continues to fall and any later the prices tend to go up.

Keep an eye on the prices for 1 month before booking. Will give you an idea of what a good deal is.

Also you can get some good deals on the Airways own web sites. Have a look at Qatar's website

The "W" code ticket is a Thai Airways special promo ticket, one of the party has to have a Thai passport. No Air miles, or reduced air miles with the "W" ticket code.
You off soon, Mr Monkey?

W class is not exclusive to Thai and has nothing to do with an individual having a thai passport !! Please see below for a full explanation

The codes in short:

F = Full-Fare First Class
P = First Class
A = First Class Discounted
R = First Class Suites (currently only A380), and formerly Supersonic (Concorde),
(a lowercase "n" after any class code indicates Night Service)
Business class codes
C, J, D, I, Z
On many airlines, C or J indicate full fare business class, whereas discounted and thus restricted and typically non-upgradeable fares are represented by D, I or Z.

The codes in short:

C, J = Full-fare Business Class,
D, I, Z = Business Class Discounted,
(a lowercase "n" after any class code indicates Night Service)

Economy class codes
Full fare: Y, B
Standard fare: M, H, N
Special or discount fares: G, I, K, L, O, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X

Beer Monkey

Have two prices for Thai and Eva Air.
EVA £515 including Tax, day flight coming back
Thai £615 including Tax.
No air miles as they are both W codes. (Specials)

Save £200 for you and Mrs Monkey.
My friend had a stand last Sunday at the Thai Festival in London's Battersea Park. A very good day had by all, thanks to the fantastic weather.
Beer Monkey PM me and I'll give you my friends details.

Letigger your right about the W class, you don't need a Thai Passport, was told second hand :roll:
