I've done exactly the same, well the wife did it, she said "I tell people we poor have not much money that is why we live in Thailand, if we rich we live in England. Now we not get people come our house and steal things".

Well.......dumb as is seems its worked

All good points Ray!Wow,I missed that the ''chili land'' was 300,000 a rai!I can't imagine any land 15K South of Udon worth anywhere close to that price!Sounds like a ''Red Flag'' ,IMO,plus who would buy it if it could be sold.I was thinking that they must have 50 -0 rai of chilis

Your in for a shock if you start looking then Stan. I live 40k out and land for building starts at 300k for ex farm, going up to 500k + for good road, all facilities situation. My wife sold two plots just last year for almost a million, and the land next to me, 1 1/2 rai, sold for 700k, Thai to Thai. That represents a 50% increase since we bought, a little over 5 years ago.The prices I quote tie up with the valuations being used by the local land office.

Agreed Val but there are people buying for a lot less then that closer to Udon as well. A friend two years ago bought at 170K a Rai in the same area where it was sold for 350K a rai. The key here is the same as everywhere else a motivated seller. That land at 170 is on a paved road, with electricity avialable 8 klms for Udon.

Another put together an even better deal but a bit farther out.

Your right Val if someone asked for that much money for a rai of land and someone paid it I would be shocked especially a Thai.

I don't doubt one bit what your saying Val, but that is no baragin.

Now thats a bargain. There around but you might not get it exactly where you want it.

If your sites are set on one paticular area, you might not do so well.

Actually the 5 rai can probably be had for less, but medical expenses and house project in Surin are keeping us from finding out.
