Well we missed Roe and Scotty because we got lost and came back in to Udon!We gathered up Cliff with all his accident scars,he navigated and we finally arrived just before sunset  Larry and his wife Oh,were great hosts, wound up with a checkbin of 90 baht as Oh refused to charge us for our 3 fish meals.

Ralph was catching fish and took some home, his wife a daughter were there,my family,Larry, his friend John,Pakawala,Cliff and myself!3 retired US miltary and me with my colorful military past,we indulged ourselves with ''miltary time stories'' and ''other storys'' of our youthful military exploits

Very pleasant setting and environment with good company! All in all a good day out!Nice little thatch roof bar setup, cool and pleasant!

Shoot, oldtimer, you can come anytime you have a mind to!!

I rushed off without my printed directions and my phone!but having Pops as a navigator and guest was better than the map anyway,so everything worked out fine!

I think I set a record... will wait for any of you to beat it. I caught two fish using a piece of orange cloth I cut from an old T-shirt, as my bait. Bait seems to be the crucial item here - we tried what Larry and Oh had available, the typical stuff that you add some water and squeeze small wads of it onto your hook. Doesn't stay on the hook very long - I just managed to feed the fish for the first hour or so. Then I resorted to the orange T-shirt (I had it in the saddlebags of my m/c as a rag to clean the seat after a rain) and put it on the hook along with packing the cloth with the regular bait. Once I got the cloth saturated with the smell of the bait, I found I could just use the cloth by itself. The nice thing was it stayed on the hook and I was able to use the single piece of cloth to catch both my fish \:D/ . A bit of American ingenuity at it's best. :-"

All in all, I had a good time, enjoyed the company of Ralph, Stan, Cliff and their ladies plus some others. If I weren't going to the States soon, I'd definitely add this as a regular outing when I'm not on the golf course.

My thanks to Larry and Oh for providing a very viable 'sport' for the community. :guitar: :guiness:

yes, very pleasant day out, Larry was the perfect host, (he bought a round), as Pakawala said, only problem was keeping the bait on the hook.

very well laid out grounds, the water quality seems good, I can see this becoming a good meeting point, for expats, where you can even do a little fishing whilst waiting for liquid refuelling!

The better half, informs me that the Thai food was "Sep Li", I had cheese & ham sarnies, so no complaints there.

All in all, as I said, a very pleasant and relaxing day :D :D :D
