PostAuthor: BKKSTAN » September 28, 2006, 9:18 am

:) I don't want to diet,I like eating to much!I exercise alot, but I seem to be losing my desire to really apply myself! My waist has grown dramatically in the last year and my weight has increased almost 20 Kg.

All of a sudden,I am thinking about alternatives for size and weight reduction.Liposuction is in my thoughts. But I really don't know much about it.I plan on researching for info on the net!

In the meantime,Does anyone have any knowledge, direct or indirect about Liposuction, specific to Thailand! Thanks ! :)

I know absolutely nothing about liposuction, just the name would put me off. I think a visit to see the doc, your weight gain in such a short space of time could be an indication of other, more serious problems. In any case he would give you a carefully prepared diet combined with excercise regime that should gradually reduce it if there is nothing medically wrong. Please remember 45lbs is a lot, especially for an already heavy man like yourself to lug around. Your heart, lungs and legs are really working overtime.Apply some of your obvious strong will power to it Stan.
If anyone is in doubt about this, see how far you can go carrying a bag of cement. Thats what Stans doing all day, every day.

Further to the above. I have just asked my fitness coach about liposuction. he confirms my thoughts. It is only used to remove fat from specific parts of the body, such as thighs and stomache. It is not a valid weight loss regime, more a toner to tired muscles. The body still retains its bulk thence its weight. :!:

This is the first area to make adjustments, if you can't control your mind, you will certainly struggle in controlling your body.
You say, you excercise a lot? What sort of excercise do you do?
sitting on an excercise bike, pedalling away for hours, will burn calories... however, it will also load up cardiovascular stress, and does precious little for your midrift! lose the bike, lie on a floor mat, and pedal fresh air... (your stomach muscles will take up the weight of your legs)
Might I suggest... you halve your daily food intake? don't worry about leaving food on your plate, you have a dog don't you?
It will seem like a real struggle at first, no doubt about it... but combined with regular excercise of the correct type, you will "gradually" reduce your waistline, thus increasing your will to continue.

The problem with weight gain in the midsection is that much of the fat is being deposited not only out front in the gut (or belly, for women) but also deep within the torso around major organs such as the liver and pancreas. This is not good.

Lipo will only take care of the cosmetic "lumps and bumps" -- the only way to get rid of the internal fat deposits is diet and exercise.

Sorry.

Perfectly true Shara, and not only around the liver but in it. If you've ever seen a fat enlarged liver from a dead animal its enormous, up to 3 times its normal size, no wonder it stops working.

Don't go Under the knife Stan

I love to eat as much as the next gut but I lost the same amount of weight you need to.

After doing some research on the net I discovered that 1 pound = 3500 calories.
An average guy need between 2000 and 3000
calories a day depending on activity level

If you eliminate 250 calories every day and exersize enough to burn 250 calories you will loose a pound a week. Cut or burn 1000 calories a day and you loose 2 pounds a week.
It's that simple!

You just have to be aware of what you are eating.
A candy bar has around 300 calories. A beer has
170 ( though Guiness has only 110 so I guess Guiness is good for you!). 10 potato chips have 100 calories. I can eat a whole bag in one sitting so I just don't buy them.

A food/exersize/wt diary is a good idea. I had to write down everything I ate for a month to get a handle on it.

So elimimate 1 donut and walk a 1/2 hour and you will be your High School wt in less than a year

So I just came home to read this entries, after a meal at Maggiano's -- a glass of pinot, caesar salad, chicken scallopini, garlic bread, and spumoni and coffee for dessert.

This is getting me nowhere in a hurry.

Guess I'll just have to go work it off with my husband -- that's the fun part.

thanks

thought of liposuction, not really, but if taking that little extra i have, lol, stop, you're killing me, and Ree can be on the gurney next to me, she can use the good fat, and enhance any feature that she might want :D , you know those silicone things just aren't healthy. the proper way, i know one gal who had it done, was lipo her excess from where ever and place in breast thru tube thru belly button, too cool and perfect set. just marvelous.
