Lithium Ion Batteries

PostAuthor: Bandung_Dero » April 15, 2008, 8:01 am

The battery pack in my Sony Vaio NoteBook is completely knackered and the chances of buying a new one here are virtually nil, the alternative is to rebuild.

Anyone know of a store in Udon that sells Lithium Ion batteries?

Thanks

PM Aussieboy, he came up with an alternative. He posted it here, but I'm to lazy to search for it.

Thanks guys I've been thru that thread. I have now dismantled the pack and know the type of battery I need which sells for USD $8.00 each on US web sites. I still would like to find them here.

Also Sony had a major recall on laptop computers batteries, involving several laptop companies.

If your laptop is one of the following models, I would guess that Sony will replace the battery for free at the service center mentioned above.

Sony VAIO: VGN-FE550G, VGN-FE570G, VGN-T240P, VGN-T250, VGN-T250P, VGN-T260P, VGN-T270P, VGN-T340P, VGN-T350, VGN-T350P, VGN-T360P, VGN-T370P

Good Luck

Mine's an antique 2002 model but thanks for the pointer to the Sony Service Center will call in there next week after things (SongKran) settle a little.

They have a pretty good selection of Lithium Ion cells at the electronics surplus store under Big C. You might want to browse the glass case and see if they have anything that you could imagine stuffing into your battery pack.

Upstairs in the complex (IT section) there is a place called Udon Notebook centre. I asked the bloke there if he could get me a battelee I mean battery (Acer) and he said, no problem. Hopefully you can get it sorted in the Sony SS.
