Logging Into The Forum

PostAuthor: Kudjap or Bust » January 22, 2009, 3:32 pm

Can you tell me why when I login to the forum and it tells me I 'have successfully logged in' and I click the 'Board Index' link it takes me to the index but I'm not logged in?

I have tried clicking the 'Delete all board cookies' at the bottom of the page but this makes no difference. I need to delete all cookies on my PC to login again which is a real hassle as it screws up all my other logins, other chat forums, my banking, download sites etc etc

IMO It's easier to manage cookies in Firefox. Firefox allows you to select which cookies to delete whereas IE only allows you to delete all cookies.

Normally the 'delete board cookies' link should work, if not then the only option is via your browser.

When you are logged out, click delete board cookies, close the browser and then restart the browser for it to take effect.

Lee, it's been reported before (19 Jan ?) but nothing has changed yet. I get an email that a forum thread I have been watching has been updated (normal) so I click on the link in the email message and can only get the 404 message, unavaiable. I've done a delete cookies but to no advantage. Is this being worked on? As I recall I'm not the only one having this problem and in my case it's been going on for over a week.

Kudjap or Bust was talking about logging in and staying logged in, not about email notification links. ;)

I'm still looking into the email link problem and will reply when it's fixed here: acces-to-site-via-e-mail-t11920.html
