that's out of town a bit, and you will need your own transport................where do you want to be located, udon thani city or out near a village of someone you know? have you been here before? plan on driving yourself or public transportation, or if downtown, walking and baht busses are enough most times. pricing, ruysuk, a favorite of mine and top mansion around 350 and up to around 1200 max. may get chilly overnight, so pool water may be little too cool for you. if no need for pool, Irish Clock, 850 is your best high end without pool, central and walking distance to most things. that would be my choice. lots of choices within central and within ring road, which circles the main town. then some places past the ring road, some basic, some resorts, but transportation would be required in my opinion, especially at night time, as the baht busses stop running, and the tuk tuks (taxi's) take over, and they are negotiated price only, and some rather high priced.

bit more info, and you'll have some better choices from the members.

I'd recommend BB Resort as it comes highly recommended by my family who stayed there.
It's not too far out of town.

if meaning nong soon, Bamboo Garden is there and comfy, but not sure what is going on, as old propietor (renting) has left, and new one never arrived, but that was awhile ago. i believe a sponsor, so maybe an email can fill in some details. checked it out for friend, decent, 2 small bungalows sit alone near pool, then rooms in larger house. cooking facilities for you to use, or prepared food, if someone has taken management of it again. not sure, that was about 6 months ago. there isn't much else there, in the area, but the place would be a nice quiet R & R stop, especially if food up to previous standard.

good to know, nice quiet place, fair size pool, good food. actually get baht bus to udon town during daylight hours if wanting to get out for the day. but get back before dark, or simply stay at fuzzy kens for the night, cheaper than tuk tuk back. they have a monthly rate at bamboo also. bus #44 goes to nong soon, and the other red or yellow busses, i think. actually, you can wave any bus down you want and make them an offer, they will accept since they already stopped. but baht bus 44 is the scheduled buss for that route, takes you right to center of town, shopping mall. about 20 kms out of town, but first 17 or so is all highway, so no to slow.

If you click on the link provided by arjay and look at the address, you will see that it is located in T. (tambon) Non Song. This spelling is little different, but most likely the same place. Then again, if you are looking for somewhere that is not about 15 k out of Udon Thani, this probably ain't the place. Good luck.

ok, checked my magic map/search and there is no 'nonsoong', no surprise there, BUT, there is a ban non song, and it's 30 kms southwest of Kumphawapi. the one we are thinking of 'non sung' is where Bamboo resorts is, so you are going to need to clarify if actually meeting someone or needing to be in 'non song'. what showed up on the map was "Ban Non Song Plueai School" in amphoe Si Taht, udon thani, off hwy 2231which changes to 2023 and take you to kumphawapi, closest thing to it is wat chom phon and wat pho si samran. a stream nearby and decent size lake where couple wats are, wat si that pamatcha, and si that pamatcha pagoda. also champi school, what ever that is, in the area to lake. even a wat chaiyaphum to help confuse you.

but if no need to be in that particular place, bamboo should do nicely, if owners are back in control, and cooking meals, as not much else in the immediate area. but 10 baht bus ride from udon, i think thats what the baht busses want now for long ride. a bargain.
