Howdy all NKmapers. Glad you're here & hope you can help me!?!

Anyone know of any shops selling Water Hyacinth furniture around Udon - or Nong Khai - or even Khon Kaen? Want to buy a living room set - sofa, chairs, table - of this material and can't seem to find any shops around here.

Thanks for any leads. This is the only type furniture I want! A friend of mine has a set (from Chiang Mai) and it's over 5 years old and looks beautiful - strong, practical, perfect for climate, etc.

Frustrating cause there's a stream full of water hyacinth behind my house!!! I'd happily deliver a truckload of the stuff to anyone who can make it!!! Muchas gracias.

I am sure I have seen the furniture you mention at some of these OTOP markets that pop up occassionaly, with the manufacturers themselves displaying their wares.

Not 100% sure, but I think I saw some as I drove past the big yellow coloured furniture shop on the left as you drive into Nong Khai just past the Tesco complex, sorry I never got a chance to stop by, but it may well be worth a look, as they do seem to have a massive selection.

What is it, like rattan furniture?

MUCH nicer than rattan! Rattan is to Water Hyacinth like Plastic is to Leather!

Looks like I'm not the only one in the market for some of this!
