Looking to rent house close to City

PostAuthor: johnboy01 » July 2, 2008, 6:36 am

I'm looking to rent a furnished house 2/3 bedrooms. Near the city centre with ADSL connection. Would be renting from September for a minimum of three months, possibly longer if all goes well. Any information appreciated, space for an office would be a plus.

there is FBI website/sponsor, that get some good ones, and they go quick. but you really have to be here to look. ones here, get a place for a week. then start looking. there are shophouses/townhouses, connected 2-3 story buildings, singles, and moo ban/developed neighborhoods. all with their pros and cons. the best is simply drive around in the area you want to be. hit every soi and ask. good luck. once i started looking seriously, it only took a couple days.

Thanks for the advice, Ive checked the FBI website theres only a few available at the moment and there doesn't seem to be many alternatives on the web. I'll have a look when i'm on the ground. :)

There is a shophouse next to us for 3500 baht a month.
No ASDL, but plenty of space for a office on the ground floor.
In the city centre not outside the ring road.
Two double bedrooms, each with their own bathroom and a toilet downstairs.
Very close to Nong Prajak Park.

PM me for more details.

Goede avond everybody.

I am also looking for a nice house to rent. I would like somewhere pretty modern. I know of the PK Development. I only know PK 4 but does anybody know if there are any currently for rent at the monent. 2 bedrooms is fine, I would like furnished.

ADSL is quite important to me.

If it is more convenient please pm me if you know of any for rent.

Dankjewel.

i gave this one a drive by look, excellent location, decent size, neighbors seem ok. i passed up on it only because of no off street parking, besides that, well worth a look. car or truck not even necessary, from there, i could do the city on bike or motorbike. nice place to start if wanting to decide if udon is for you.

I'd like to jump in on this one too... I'm looking to move in the middle of August next. I have heard good things about the PK development. (PK4)... There is PK 1 to 10 yes? I am looking for somewhere relatively modern, furnished and fahlang friendly. ADSL is a must and cable TV. If anybody knows of a house for rent in PK or a similar project I'd appreciate a PM.

Thank you.

I believe the OP was actually looking for a house to rent, not the origins of a buffalosoldier! ;)

Thai place might be cheaper, or am I way off the mark?

yes and no, usually cheaper. but not necessarily geared toward a farang tenant. for myself, there a are a couple bare necessities i can not live without.
1. sit down toilet, bad back, I don't, but how do you read a paper while sqatting.

2. ac's, at least one in bedrooms, and one in living room, which is why i probably will not renew next year where i am now, though some negotiation may happen.

3. semi functioning kitchen, meaning a sink, don't laugh, many don't have, and some counter space would be nice.

4. more than one electical outlet in a room.

5. safe, secure, off street parking.

6. VERY IMPORTANT ONE, water storage tank and pump. you may have 3-4 stories, with bath/toilet on each, but no city water pressure to reach the 2nd floor. or, cuts out for few days or a week. keep that tank full. and at least a 1st floor toilet/bath that gravity will provide water to. GOOD LUCK.

these can be hard to find in a quiet area, usually not a moo ban, since one of your neighbores is going to have 10 dogs, that either lives with them, or they feel the need to feed all the dogs on the soi. those little sh*t machines love to use farang lawns, prejudice little sh*ts.

this one i missed, try to stay away from scholl or wats, and look for speakers on poles. yea, that one, i have a speaker right across the street, though after the 1st week, it did calm down a bit. i an usually awake anyway, it's just mentally frustrating that anyone can be that inconsiderate.

you really have to be on the ground here in udon, using FBI, had a couple i procastinated on, and gone that quick. good ones don't last. but basically, pick an area that interest you, and simply go up and down the sois, there are plenty out there. just how picky are you, and pricing can start as low as 3000 for something livable. but expect 6000-7000 for what i listed about, and up. i also noticed, not many rentals are like in the states, once someone moves out, they are quickly prepped and looking nice for next tenant to move in. quite the opposite, so expect a couple days cleaning and touch up after you find one. that's seem to be the norm. so don't get put off by it. but most things should work, and check them.

AGAIN, GOOD LUCK

PK3 on the road to Sakhon Nakhon, 3 kms after Big C, right side, U-turn after reaching Thai Siri market on left side.

I rented a 3 room bungalow there for 1 year at 6k baht, nothing special, crumpled moo bahn.

Knowing Udon now I would rent at PK4, although some miles out of town.
