Well that was a dissapointment - My first meal was a basic dal - it had no taste just a salty mush, I can say the worst dal I have ever had. Second time with frequent Indian travellers, we ordered a large selection. It was bland and not well prepared even with more than 40 minutes waiting. The owner is a jolly guy, but his heart is not in the food. Even a basic curd is not available. He offers a daily special 3 dishes and a "milkshake", cheap, but you will be better off with the local street vendors. Nong Khai has so many new bars and restaurants, they open and close all the time - ask around who is doing good food - generally you will find reasonable food along the boardwalk, but the old rule eat where the locals eat is always a good strategy. Cheap prices and few coustemers, should make your alarm bells go off. And Mariam is such a place - even if you long for an indian meal.
