There may already be a topic on this establishment but I had a quick glance and could not spot one. Anyway I had visited this bar on various ocassions over the past couple of years when in Udon. I have always been the only customer but as I went primarily to watch the football on a Saturday or Sunday night it did not really bother me. However, I always thought it was sad that such a large bar should be so bereft of customers.
This time round I went in on Saturday night to find the place packed. They have three good quality pool tables, plenty of very attractive hostesses and a good vibe. There was a pool competition running which, having seen some of the guys playing, I decided not to enter. I noticed that there is a lady's only competition on Sunday nights but again from what I witnessed I would not be good enough for that either!
I went back on Wednesday evening and found the place even busier. I discovered on Wednesday nights Mojo's offer a free buffet. I managed to have a chat with the owner, Thorsten and found him to be very helpful and amiable.
Mojo's is a great bar with the music not too loud and the place alive with the buzz of conversation - just the way pubs used to be in England before the bean counters took over! I have to say it is one of the best bars I have been into in Thailand for friendliness and I met and chatted with several customers throughout both evenings I was there.
Thorsten has put a lot of thought and no small amount of work into getting the bar ging as it should be and his efforts are certainly proving worthwhile.
Thumbs up from me for Mojo's.
Kevin
