Monkeys and Farang

PostAuthor: swami » August 29, 2006, 8:54 am

I was talking to a friend in the gym today. I remarked how lucky we farang are because the Thai girls are so naturally loving, kind and wonderful to their farang BF. I said that it was really remarkable that the Thai girl had such beautiful dispositions that it did not matter what the farang looked like. Old, young, fat, skinny, bald, hairy, whatever, everybody got the same treatment. What wonderful girls Thais are!!!

He laughed and said he did not see it that way. Here is his version: Look, Thai girls do not think of farang the same way they think of Thai men, or even Asian men. They see us as a different breed. We smell different, have bigger bodies, more hair, big tongues and guns, do not shower as much as Thais, have more money, and are just totally different. Thais think of us as a different animal entirely.

It is like this. Suppose you have no money, can only make $100 a month working in a restaurant. Now, you learn that if you find a monkey, make him your pet and bed him, you can get $50 a day or even more if you take good care of the monkey. So, you decide to find a monkey. Now, a monkey is a monkey, just like a farang is a farang. If you have to bed a monkey (or a farang) you do not really care what he looks like. I mean, there are old monkeys, young monkeys, fat monkeys, bald monkeys, hairy ones, whatever, but in the end it really does not make any difference what kind of monkey you pick. If you have to pick a monkey, they are all pretty much the same. That is the way the Thai girl thinks about farang. She quickly learns what the monkey likes, and that is what the monkey gets. And she treats all monkeys exactly the same. You think it is all about Thai girls being super nice naturally. I think it is all about monkeys. Then, I added, but all the monkeys all have smiles on their faces. Love, swami

after reading this and your other previous post, not sure if you are for real or a troll. AND, I WANT MY 5 MINUTES BACK.

TROLL, 3 post, different areas, all basically same topic, to instigate debate of the same issue. you may want to go fishing on lonely planet, they bite good w/nasty replies. may help you get off better, i'm simply foreplay for you.

I am a new poster to Udonmap. I post because I enjoy writing and sharing. I do not expect everyone to either agree with or enjoy what I write, and I welcome all comments. If you do not agree with me, fine, I am happy to read the reasons why, and will certainly listen to the counter arguments. Writing is a form of communication that promotes thought, and this is my objective as well as providing amusement. The above post is obviously written tongue-in-cheek and meant as a humorous satire on Thai Farang relationships.

Obviously, Laphanphon is piqued by my posts. In checking who he is, I am impressed that this is an intelligent, well educated, successful man and I do not discount his opinion. He is correct that my posts are on the same issue. Is not that what relationships section is about? However, I would prefer that he critique my post rather than call me a troll. And, is not debate what these forms are all about? Perhaps he does not find my story amusing. I am sure that some others will agree. This is what makes life interesting; what pleases one does not please the other. My post is neither

Swami

I like your perspectives and find them entertaining.

Its peoples choice whether they choose to read them or not.

I choose to (for the moment) :)

Swami
An unknown poster appearing with an opening comment categorising "all" thai women as money grabbers was going to be challenged, in spite of what you now put forward as 'tounge in cheek'. The introduction above would have saved the shot from me, on your other post.
You would claim intelligence as walking unintroduced and unknown into the 'Mongrels Mob' weekend bikie booze up, state that all their wenches are whores and about when you are going to get sconed with a bike chain claim 'tongue in cheek'

A clue to Swami could be found in the dictionary definition of the word. A person seeking union with himself or Swa, meaning Self.I still think there is a connection with a monkey that wore glasses. :?:

i'm warming up to you already, damn, i'm easy, though a bit shallow.

well, actually, i did respond to your post, being they were basically the same, i thought the one reply in relationship would cover all three. i even agreed with you, a bit. guess i'll just have to wait and see if you're on a fishing trip, hope you prove me wrong.

Swami, I view your post as somewhat tongue-in-cheek, a little provocative, with a dash or two of cynicism, and a touch of humour. So yes it amused me, as I am a little cynical and have a sense of humour.

Be aware though that different farangs met their other halves under various different circumstances and, not all of them, nor their Thai other halves are the same, or thus as you suggest. So there will be quite a few who don't share your perspective, views, cynicism or sense of humour!!
