Bear,

Nero 9 is one of the best DVD Burner packages on the market.

Bear, does you PC actually have a DVD read/writer, or just a DVD player.
The reason I ask is that I have always found that a burner comes with the equipment if it can burn.
Some of the earlier DVD/CD players would burn CD's, but not DVD's.
The free product might not be the best & Nero 9 (as recommended above by Prenders) is probably a very good addition to your PC. However, maybe you need to buy a new DVD writer (the hardware) as well.

Bear you will also need a program to covert the downloaded format (generally .avi) to DVD format, if you want to play on a DVD player attached to your TV (unless your DVD player is capable of playing avi files).

I use WinAVI 8, although I believe there are a number of other programs which will do the job. Look WinAVI up on Mininova if you want a copy.

As far as your computer DVD player is concerned, what does it say on the front of the player?

If you have Windows...
Left Hand mouse click on Start - Settings - Control Panel.
In Control Panel Open the System Icon.
In the Systems Property box that comes up click on Device Manager.
A list of all the hardware devices that are on your PC (with a + mark by each).
They are in alphabetical order. Click on the + sign by DVD/CD-Rom devices
and your DVD will be listed.
If it says RW/DVD in the description then you can burn DVD's If it just says R/DVD then you cannot burn DVDs - R stands for Read, W stands for Write.
