Moving to Thailand

PostAuthor: RickR » August 23, 2009, 2:12 pm

My fiance and I are moving back to Nong Khai in the next couple of years and I am trying to find information about shipping my Harley there. I have read about people shipping there bike to malaysia and riding them over into Thailand. Can you do this from Loas? Is it even worth contemplating shipping it over? I appreciate any and all input.

Thanks

I know that importing vehicles into Thailand is not to be undertaken by the faint hearted. To say that the duty is excessive is putting it mildly. The Customs Department is also not exactly known for its straightforwardness & honesty - there was a piece in the Bangkok Post a day or so ago with the Government saying heavy reforms were needed there.
Here are a couple of sits that you might gather some information & ideas from..
