Not sure about settings on Vista as I'm still coming to terms with it myself. There are a few third part utilities to keep you connected but require buying a licence, Bullet Proof is $15.00. StayAlive appears to be free... Worth a go?

I wonder if the numbers of people being admitted to psychiatric wards increases when Microshaft releases a new operating system. #-o

Certainly, but based on experience at a computer and software company, I would bet dog doo to donuts that most of those people are Microsoft's software engineers.

Some anti-virus software (McAfee and Norton) has compatibility issues with Windows Mail and can stop you sending attachments also. What one are you using?

try this go down in the right hand corner were your clock is turn every thing off then go to your email and see if you can download your attachments I forgot turn off any pop up blockers also
if you can not get your attachments go to tools & options and check your settings you may have the box checked that says restricted zones if so remove the check and place it in internet zone
I hope this helps you

Jarra - Before you consider paying a pro to look at it maybe you could join up to http://thevistaforums.com/... Registration will only take a few minutes. You can search the database for known issues. Like all of us using hasta la Vista other problems will no doubt crop up before it is stable and tickety-boo so you may get some answers on there.

I admire your confidence Az... In the past I'd be up all night trying to sort the problem. I am signed up to experts exchange also and now if I'm banging my head off a brick wall I just pose the question and go to bed and hopefully someone more knowledgeable will get back to me. Haven't used it in a long time though... I must be getting better. :D

Jarra, sign up and ask the question yourself. You will need to be specific with specifications (that's too many specifix)... If you want I'll pose the question. Just tell me the specificcics of your notebook and what email program you are using etc.
