The home sits on 600mt2 block, there is 20 mts to the back fence, so It was possible to build behind the house a shed, but that would cut down the back yard by 5 mts, with the pond in the back yard 15mt long 5 mt wide, I wanted to keep as much yard for trees a I can, and you catch a better breeze when the home is lifted up higher.

The cost to lift was B7500 for the crane, b400 for the welder, and b5000 for the steel columns, B7000 for the colourbond wall sheets and back door, B2800 for labour to reassemble home to lock up stage, Plus B25,000 for a remote rolla door, which will be fitted later, B2000 for crusher dust base. slab at later date approx B10,000

Total cost B60,000 6 x 4 mt =24mt2 = B2500 a mt2 cheap cheap, right up LAs ally

If I built behind the home I would have lost a bedroom window, and not as good as breeze,

did u bring the Welders mask from Oz, to increase your duty of care to the employee who was ARC'ing for u ?

Thw welder was a real pro from Dim Sim Crane hire, seems the only pro in the team, Just thinking what they will do with the bent Spreader bar, most probably use it on the next job, on close inspection of the wire slings, the ends were hand plated at the ends, not pressed sleaved as we would use in the west, the home only weighed about 2 tonns, I would hate to think if you were lifting any serious 10t plus.

The previous guy wo turned up to weld lasted about half a day, just as I got to the site about 1pm some days earlier, he was leaving, sore eyes, welding flash, you will usually get that if you dont were welding glasses, gave him b200 to go to the hospital, rang up Dim Sim crane hire to send out a better professional. Cant leave the job for 1 minute with out some thing going wrong with the Thais.

Heres the steel beams used to lift the house with, now used to support the canterlever shade sail. There 150x150mm, concreted into the ground 750mm, then a 16mm reo bar put down the center of the steel column then the column is filled with concreted, the second stage 100mm round pite is put inside the square column down to a depth of 600mm welded and reo bar put down the center of the round pipe and concreted

This is the back view with the home braced and lower section garage sheeted with colourbond metal and 3 panels of opal fiberglass sheets for natural light

looking up from inside the home at the Girder Truss, it 6mt long across the building, and 2700mm high, goes right up to the upper roof supporting the canterlever eves 1600mm, its made of 12mm ply screwed to the steel frame at 75mm centers and is 1200 wide , which is the standard with of plywood, it will also support the landing for the second floor.

Above the plywood you can see a small version of the same thing 6mt long used as a plank around the job site, above the plywood the steel studs go to the roof apex, just behind the girder truss you can see the green ceiling battens fixed to the original timber trusses
