I do see where you are coming from but the literal translation of prostitute is to sell ones body in sexual activity for money.
In this case the situation was about women ,but it applies to male prostitutes equally.

Where I think we may diverge, is your explaining that to substitute selling ones body/sex, you sell your labour or ability, in exchange for money/goods. Payment is based on supply and demand and is totally the profit value in employment/capitalism and so you sell your labour to the highest bidder but conversely the "boss" wants you to sell your labour cheapily for his maximum profit.
