I go to a place called KING'S within walking distance of the Charoensri complex. Opposite the bus station and down a little bit towards Phosri Road.

When a fahlang walks in they direct you to a khatoey but in fairness to him he does not just shear the lot off like you are a sheep and takes his time.

Back home I am charged 650 Baht for some thick fukker to cut my hair and answer the phone and ask some guy to put money on a horse and ask me just about every detail of my life. The khatoey cuts my hair in 1/10th of the time and does a better job for about 60 Baht.

Mmmmm maybe it's time for the 'Bobby Charlton' to go Harold, just have a grade 1, no more worrying about windy days, no more school kids laughing at the straggly bits of hair hanging down, no more people pointing fingers.....do the right thing and do it now..! ;)

Just got a great haircut from a hair salon on Phon Phisai Road near the Ban Hoy Market.

Ask for Awn. It's about half a block east on the right. Noodle shop right next door. Yellow building across the street.

Haircut 120 baht
Shampoo 40 baht
Style 50 baht

Best haircut I've had in 10 years.

It is a woman's salon that does western style haircuts for men.

I didn't want the traditional Thai buzz cut for men.

will not be able to get our h/cs for 40 baht anymore

40 baht, for that doo of yours, yikes, i'll do it for 10. did mine the other day, but as Gem's surprised look on face as she noticed, then handed me the mirror,  oops, put the wrong tip on, so i'll be wearing my hats for a while, i have enough of them. put on # 2 instead of # 4, a bit short, and little thinner on top than my younger days, so to avoid a little sunburn, better use them hats for about a month.

the few times i did have my hair cut at salon, decent job, was also in the 100-150 range, which included couple washings. now i do myself, 1st mistake i've made, then little self trim when longer, then if wanting to keep longer, Ree does a good job. though i prefer the buzz, then let come back in. bit hot lately, though i'm sure that hat will help cool me off  8)

There are some good barbers next to the cop shop, on the street that runs between phosi rd and srisuk rd. All the bib get their comb over cuts there so you should find what you are after.
Does anyone know about the tradition of barbers being closed on Wednesdays? What's it about?
