New Big C or What?

PostAuthor: jingjai » March 26, 2009, 3:37 pm

I noticed after visiting Tang Ngee Soon Superstore, that a huge block of land is being prepared for some major construction. I asked my wife if she knew what it was, she replied "that's going to be the new Big C".
I can't imagine that Big C would be so stupid as to construct a new store between Tang Ngee Soon and the soon to open Carrefour. But then again, TIT.
That should make the traffic in that area a real pleasure  .

Think you misread my post Pops.
I'm talking about the huge block of land between the new, soon to be opened Carrefour and Tang Ngee Soon Superstore. This huge block of land is being prepared to build upon and there is already corrugated metal fence in front of it. It is right next to the Ngee Soon store on the same side of the road.

The Block between Ngee Soon and Carrefour, is defiantly Tesco Lotus, New distribution Centre as well as A super Store complete with as Saint said, a Bowling Alley and Multi Screen cinema.

The wife and I were talking to the Design Engineer overseeing both Carrefour and Tesco projects.

hmm, i need to move that way in couple years....................... 8)

at Nakhon Sawan, and the Big C here is definite upgrade to udon's present one, with all mentioned above, rather surprised, 1st one i've seen with options. :(
New distribution Centre

that makes sense, as they have too many stores in NE to be shipping from bkk, which it is my understanding, they still do.

Well let's hope the powers that be, do some traffic planning before "Udon's Miracle Mile" is complete. Wait...I think I just posted an oxymoron. Traffic + planning + Thailand. ;)

Surely, a better location for Tesco Lotus' New distribution Center might be say 10 kms., South of the Ring Rd., on Highway #2.

Lets see, within the first week of operations for the Tesco Distribution centre , there will be 2 significant accidents at night time involving U turns, Red light runners, ran into the rear of a turning vehicle.......

Within 1 month - 1 fatality

I sincerley hope my predictions are shown to be wrong, but major traffic changes to a high speed road with double lanes , involving large vehicles is a receipe for disaster untill the locals work it out.

well they have had tipper trucks doing u turns at that junction for a few weeks now , as far as i know with no mishap or fatalities , but they have changed the light sequence ,, which i think is much much safer than it used to be . i use that junction a lot and have nearly been taken out several times by light jumpers coming from the west into town . but yes wazza you do have a good point , and they will need to improve the size of that junction .

Hi,
Saint, they have had mishaps there, i use that junction every day, only yesterday morning a pickup traveling down the single carriageway and turning right, the lights were on green, when a lorry carrying earth decided to do the u-turn when lights for him were on red. Luckily no one was hurt.
Cheers Doug.
