Hi,my lap top works fine,but due to the amount of paper work,regarding Visa, buying a car,i need to be able to print things off,i purchased a new Brother DCP165C printer.Carried out the installation as per the instructions,but will it print,NO.When i open an email,and click on PRINT,it opens the preview,then opens the print instruction,i click to print and it starts.But the paper comes out blank,it copies ok.I know its me,DER,,A bit thick,but any suggestions,remember,im no computor nerd.thanks.

Have you had any other printers installed before Richard?

If so then you may need to double check that your new Brother is selected as the 'default' printer.
Control panel > printers and fax > and check you have a tick next to the Brother printer.

Does it print anything else at all?

I presume the ink cartridges are all installed ok, can you do any test prints to see if everything is communicating ok?

Can I ask your procedure for installing? I presume it is USB. If so you may need to install the software first then during the installation process when prompted to connect the printer do so.

Unlike the old (parallel port) way where you connect first then install the software.

embarassing but some people forget to remove the tape covering the ink jets another BS problem is windows vista

Vista likes my Epson.
But obviously make sure they(printers) are compatible with Vista.

I have a cannon pixma mp145 all in one.when I install it with the CD, the programme is all thai language! I have tried find a site to download the drivers but with no success.Any one know how I can convert this to english? Coz me no understand Thai writing!

Morti I too have a Canon Pixma, just for curiosity inserted the disk and this is the display I get:



I could be well off the mark but I wonder if it because of your locality settings. You have nothing to lose... Double click the clock in your system tray and click the time zone tab. Is it set for Bangkok? Try setting it at London then insert disk again. Just a thought that the installation process picks up your current location and sets the language accordingly.

No! I changed to Grenich mean time,still comes up with the picture Alan displayed ...But words in Thai!

whilst browsing i did see a site regarding free drivers..but had a quick look and can't see it now, sure you will come across it somewhere morti.

Technically this link should lead you to Canon's Asia support site: Canon Asia But when you click to navigate to your model some odd screen comes up.

This is the USA support site: Canon USA so you can select your operating system, and download software for the Pixma 140 series printers.

Just downloaded Drivers from US progamme.10 minutes all done.Good news...all downloaded...bad news.Still in Thai! ask me what language too! I give up!
