You may have believed that you made a post Morti, but you did not!!
Anything a moderator does on the forum is recorded, I have reviewed that record and no-one has deleted anything by you. If you post on the forum or not is your decision, but do not think that you are having posts deleted because you are not!!
As for saint's post I, personally, believe it was totally unwarranted. I despair at some of the "crap" that is written on the forum and believe that posters have a duty to engage their brain before engaging their fingers!!

I'd be interested to know how many of the NM regulars have the same opinion as Saint. What is "a lot"?. I don't attend the meetings but I'd guess he's in a small minority.

To reiterate, I certainly haven't deleted any posts by Mortiboy on this thread, in fact on any thread for some days.

Regarding Saints remarks, my only comment would be - it's good that you are in a very small minority, perhaps a more vociferous/outspoken, minority ...... I'm sure the vast majority of members would not agree with you.

Regarding MTD's remarks, I don't know of your experiences and prejudices on the Thai Visa Forum, but Mods on this forum don't wear jackboots, - if they wear anything, they wear dancing pumps!! ;)

In that case ,If all threads are recorded,I respect your comment here.Seems It could be I did not click "submit" So in that case....I submit.
I received a PM...................
Morti,

A courtesy Pm to let you know your rather vulgar joke on the japanese robot thread has been moved to the Jokes (3) forum.

The Mods are finding that there are far too many silly quips and jokes posted lately, all too often taking serious subjects off topic and degenerating into joke threads.

A simple tactful PM saying " Your thread has been moved to the joke forum as It could be offensive to some members"....Simply.... "moved to Joke forum"
In future I will stick to more serious topics and not have a little crack joke here and there. :sleepy:

So is the Night Market Get Together still at the NM or has it moved permanently now?

Is it on Fridays or Saturdays?

Can I come next time I'm over?

Mortiboy, you seem to be getting your wires crossed. Your first post (re-quoted above) was on this thread referring to a post..."agreeing with Saint.....about deleting posts....Only to find that deleted too".
In other words you lead members to believe you had a post deleted on this thread.

You now post a copy of a PM you received several days ago, about an entirely different post, on an entirely different thread, which wasn't even deleted, simply moved, and about which you received an entirely appropriate explanation! :?

Warnings for 'going off topic' (that's what discussions do in the real world) and threads locked for poor or petty reasons. A guy has a thread twice deleted because he's asking if anyone wants to have a couple of cheap beers with him in an evening (yes, I know it is 'advertising', but FFS!).

Very Thai Visa-ish, sadly.

Nothing like Thai Visa, actually.

Firstly, (rightly or wrongly - and I am sure we know your views already) Thai Visa has a zero tolerance policy for any questioning of moderators' decisions. (I might add, as far as many other forums go, they are not alone in this policy).

Secondly, the posting of details of PMs (short for PRIVATE Mail) on the general forum would usually earn you a holiday on TV (and, here we go again), many other forums.

Udon Map and Thai Visa are chalk and cheese in their moderation policies - for mine, I lean towards Thai Visa, but I can understand where UM is coming from.

Hey, why don't we split this out and raise another thread? Moderator deletions really isn't about the Night Market is it and you'll notice that Mrs Westerby's little boy wanted to discuss the NM earlier today but got trampled over in the argument about the Mods.

Chawk dee chaps.

To clear up a couple of points that have arisen:-
Firstly, (rightly or wrongly - and I am sure we know your views already) Thai Visa has a zero tolerance policy for any questioning of moderators' decisions. (I might add, as far as many other forums go, they are not alone in this policy).

Absolutely, - a good example, from my own experience:- There was an argument going on, on a Phuket Forum on which I very occasionally post, which had degenerated into a salvo of personal insults. I posted a suggestion that it might be a good idea to stop being personal and get back to discussing the topic in hand, and guess what - my post was deleted. No one else's - just mine!!! I drew my own conclusions. :?
A guy has a thread twice deleted because he's asking if anyone wants to have a couple of cheap beers with him in an evening (yes, I know it is 'advertising', but FFS!)
Arrr did that thread by Tony Croweater go again...that is a shame, a friendly poster/member too...

Tony was sent a PM by one of the Mods, explaining that he was welcome to invite members to call in for a chat, but if he included prices of drinks in his post, or indeed that his intention was to then ask them to buy drinks, then that would understandably be construed as advertising. He was given the choice to repost his invitation to exclude listing drink prices and the ball left in his court. I don't think one can be much fairer than that.

...And I think Westerby wants to know when the next Night Market meeting is? ;)

I know. Pathetic isn't it. Not a surprise when you have boy-buggerers in your moderating team though.

Damn right, too.
