No connection for two days

PostAuthor: Shado » January 24, 2010, 6:27 pm

I've not been able to connect to UdonMap, Bangkok Post and a host of other websites. This began on Saturday, 23 January and continues. I'm in Udon Thani, use TOT and typically connect by using my favorites list. Everything has worked well up until now.

I've tried both Internet Explorer and Firefox with the same results. I tried connecting to other forums in Thailand to see if they were working and cannot connect to them either. For some reason I can connect to Nong Khai Map forum, but it is also very, very slow and does not display all graphics.

Anyone having similar problems or know what may be causing the connection problems?

Thanks..............Shado

Try clearing your cookies and cache on your browser, if that does not help then I would be inclined to contact Tot directly to see if there is a fault somewhere.

Yeah, I have cleared the cookies and think that contacting TOT is now going to be the answer. I was wanting to see if anyone was having similar problems and it looks like it is only me. I was able to connect to UTMap about 19:00 last night, but later lost the connection and no connection this moring.

I'm thinking it is a TOT issue.

I have heard of a couple of other guys having Tot issues, so it sounds the most probable cause right now, but just as a heads up, Udonmap will be going through a couple of upgrades over the next couple of days, so may suffer a bit of downtime.

Thanks for the update Sean. I contacted TOT, they took my phone number and after about an hour they called me back to say they think the problem is my modem. They requested that I bring the modem into their office here in Udon Thani and they will upgrade it. I'll go there tomorrow and exchange the modem and see if that solves the problem. I've had this modem for nearly three years so perhaps an upgrade is in order.

In the meantime, I'll just keep on trying and occasionally I'll get lucky and connect to the site I am trying to. Up until now, my TOT service has been acceptable for the most part.

I'm with CAT and this afternoon my connection seems to have become unbearably slow, I'll give it a day or so to see if it improves.

I have to admit that the modems given out here, are not the greatest, so it may well resolve your problems, fingers crossed :)
