Nong Khai Immigation office hours

PostAuthor: steadyjohn » January 9, 2008, 10:35 am

Hi,

Does anyone know the opening hours of Nong Khai Immigration?
Open/close times and do they close for lunch?
I have to make a trip next week

I have a general idea where it is...............but any directions might also help

Thanks

The hours are 8:30-4:30. I arrived early at about 8:15 and was done in about 5 minutes on my last visit. I believe they do not close for lunch but in previous visits things were very slow around lunch.

Just a possible heads up for anybody wanting to go to Nong Khai immigration tomorrow Friday 9th May. My significant other says, "Today you go iggimiration, tomollow they holiday." I'm not going today or tomorrow but Monday as I cannot face them twice in 1 week.

However just looked at the calendar and the date is in orange (Royal ploughing ceremony day). I am getting 'er indoors to ring them later to confirm if they are working tomorrow or not.

Just to update above info I believe hours are: 9am - 4pm and when I was there on Tuesday they WERE gone to lunch from 12 - 1pm.

Anybody planning on going tomorrow might want to call them today to confirm if they are working tomorrow or not.

Tel: 042-420242.

Posted office hours are )830-1600,but 2 staff showed up at 0800 and I was done in 5 minutes for my notification. The 2 officers on duty were the man and women that sit to your left when facing them! The 2 most pleasant.I had the best one,the woman, very nice!!

Today,June 9 was my report day,but next time it will be Aug.24th,which is my visa renewal date!

Here is a conversation my officer had with another applicant about how many copies of papers are needed when renewing the visa!

She said''1 copy if you are on retirement visa and 2 copies if you are on marriage visa''.

I should have asked about the ''new rule''of not having to do the 90 day report on the visa renewal date, that was reported by a poster at an earlier date, but it slipped my mind until I noticed that my next report date was 105 days away, on my renewal date, instead of the usual 90 days!I was already home when I noticed the extra reporting days!

she is a very nice woman, and probably just figured, if you're a last minute person, why make you come back, when your renewal day is so close. way too practical. sad that one apple can taints the whole experience. all others have been very courteous and helpful, if not, simply professional is fine with me. one even noticed me during his lunch break at door, saying closed for at least another 1/2 hour or sp , what you want, 90 day, give me, stamp stamp, good bye. can't get that service anywheres.

If in fact ,they are changing the reporting system to include you renewal date,I would venture to guess that you will get either another 90 days on your renewal date!

mortiboy, report on the 12th Sept for your 90 days. Once you do your extension, your next 90 days will be from the date of the extension date 8th of Oct. That is how it has been with mine.

You can mail your 90 day notification to Bangkok, or send somebody in to take care of it for you. No big deal they just want to make sure they know where to find you.
