Nong Khai Map Magazine

PostAuthor: westerby » June 27, 2009, 6:14 am

Is there a publication date for the first Nong Khai Map magazine? I went to the magazine links on the home page but could only find PDF copies of Udon Map magazine.

The new revised map will be available for download soon, however the older version of the Nong Khai city map can still be downloaded from here: http://www.nongkhaimap.com/images/nongkhai_map.gif and we also have a map of Vientiane for anyone that is interested http://www.nongkhaimap.com/images/Vientianemap.gif.

The magazine itself will be developed later this year, updates will be forthcoming as to the anticipated date of the 1st publication of the Nong Khai Magazine.

Excellent, the Vientiane map is particularly handy as I never had one on my last trip and had to rely on my Thai family and friends for directions. :-s

Incidentally, who draws up all these maps?

Credit for the 2 above must go to the creators at UdonMap, as for the upcoming revised map, I have had a graphic designer busy with it in Bangkok for a few weeks now, but I'll be updating/revising it after it's finished.

The map is almost complete, just a few more bits to put straight, the magazine will be a little way off in the not too distant future.

It is complete, but due to an ongoing internet issue, I have been unable to get it uploaded, I am in the process of switching ISP's so my problem should be resolved very soon.

There's more time for Sean and Jaidee to get things sorted now that the US politics threads on UM have been dispensed with.

I think a magazine would be difficult to justify or indeed fill at this early stage of proceedings. There wouldn't really be enough sponsors or material to go in a Nong Khai (alone) magazine.

Surely the map needs to be up and running with both feet on the ground first, and full of sponsors. The magazine could then become something of an overflow for the map, and by then there would or should be enough related issues and material arising to put into the magazine. :D

I would see that as a phase 2 exercise, coming maybe next year. ;)

NB> These are strictly my own thoughts.
