Oh, does anyone remember the post on "How do I Mix Concrete". Seems like someone wanted to pour his own patio. Well I just got done pouring a 30" x 8' (56 cm x 255 cm) slab, dam forgot what a bear it is
Its a 3 pint job, and if you are lucky, you might be able to drink 1/2 pint while doing it.
I know this is in reply to an old post but might be useful to others. I have looked for a table saw for a long time but haven't been able to purchase one in Thailand. To have one shipped here is very expensive and the duty is high.
I have decided to make one using a shaft I had made at a Kabota dealer in Roi-et. I will be using 2 piller blocks and a 16" blade. I am mounting the shaft using strap hinges with a wood and metal plate. the belt will be attached to the motor which is mounted on 2 strap hinges. I will use a 8" C clamp with part of the C cut off and mounted to a vertical board. The C clamp will be used to raise and lower the blade. The weight of the motor on the strap hinges will keep the belt tight when raising and lowering the blade. I think I will make the top using 2 more strap hinges mounted on a horizontal board near the saw blade which will allow adjustments of ripping boards on a angle. I will use stop pegs at the other end to vary the angle. the cross slide will be a long slide assy. and the rip fence will be made of either metal or laminated wood allowing a lead screw to be placed inside with a handle on one side and a T on the other.
I hope this will help any other looking to make one. I will try to take some pictures and post them as I continue building the saw.
