I stayed at Pantawee Hotel one week last year (April 2009).
Very nice hotel and staff.
No problem with registering.
Room was very ok, with computer and free internet on the ground floor (inside the room and outside with one computer).
Missing only a safe in room.
Good restaurant.
I asked for a better breakfast and paid an extra "orange juice class" otherwise breakfast is american standard.
Not tried the massage place, you can enter it after crossing the street.
5 mn by walk to reach Mekong riverside and Thasadet market.
I believe owner is one famous (in thailand) artist (maybe singer, I don't know)...because of the pictures in restaurant hall.

I slept in Pantawee in February 2011 but honestly, I must say, I were not so happy.
A very old TV and a very old PC stood very near besides my bed, and also the furniture has seen better days :-k

The staff was friendly.
I heard about a bar, but either it was not open that day, or I came there to the wrong time.

Thanks a lot for the information. I just booked the Pantawee Hotel for my spring break. I am so excited to stay there. It sounds like a lot of fun. I really like the fact that there is free internet, so I can keep in touch with my family while I am traveling.
