Yes Stars I think Papas' advice is best too. Vientiane was a route I had never thought of - as we Brits don't have an embassy there.. :( & add pages for free too - only in our dreams!!!!! :D :D

Actually Stars I think it best you go to Singapore and try the Embassy there ! Apparently it's lovely this time of the year and a really fun place

On this one papaguido was right on. I did get the pages added to my passport at the US Embassy in Vientiane. The people were more friendly than in Bangkok and there was no crowd, maybe 3 people there. 20 minutes and I was out. No fee.

On the way to Nong Khai, the police pulled us over and I heard the officer say "no seatbelt falagn." Well I usually have it buckled, just forgot this time. 20 minutes later we took off 500 baht poorer.

We get over the bridge and as soon as we enter the other side, Vientiane, and I was headed straight for a bus station across the street to take us to the US Embassy, we get stopped by about 5 guys.
Three are saying "tuk tuk 200 baht." As they jumped up to 300 baht round trip, 2 other guys are in my wifes face about taxies.

So of course the wife can't say no and the old man talkin' 500 baht for an air conditioned taxi won her over!
Wow, an old jalopy with hot air blowin', the doors swing open at will on the way, we stall out at every stop! He takes us to the wrong place, Thai Consulate. But what was funnier was the wierd carpet he had glued to the dashboard.

At a loss of at least 900 baht, sorry no beer today again.
My wife said she was taking me to an air conditioned restaurant at duty free. After we walked all over the place and got nowhere in the heat in April, she gets on the line to enter Laos again instead of the departure.
I told her that we are in the wrong line and showed her where to go, thinking "I wonder why she thinks she is my boss!"

When I ran out of pages in my passport, even though it still had over a year before expiry, I did'nt go to get more pages added.Just took the train to The Embassy BKK.I applied for a new one.returned in the evening. When My passport arrived 5 days later,it was extended from the expiry date of the old one.So I still had 10 years plus over a year added.
As far as I know ,the Thai consulate at Visa office Vientiane, will give out a 3 month non imm visa.If things have not changed since 3 years ago. They do not issue multiple visa applications.I think you would have to get your 3 months visa, then after go to Immigration office Nong Khai and apply for a one year retire/marriage visa. 8)
