Pictures on the posts

PostAuthor: Paul » February 8, 2006, 11:33 pm

Another quick question:

When I click to enlarge a picture that someone has enclosed along with their post - it opens in gigantic size (about 4 times larger than the screen )and I have to use the arrows to look at different parts of it.
Is it possible ( I am sure it is ) to get it to open to just the size of my screen?

I'm pretty sure the answer to this is no.

If you click on a picture that is delivered directly to your browser to control then you can. Like a map on here for example

In the case here, PostImage are dynamically delivering a web page as wide (well wider) than the original picture

Its the same as if somebody created a web page 2000 pixels wide...you would have to scroll left/right to see it all.

Unless anybody else has found a way...

Stevo,

Enlarge it again to say 3 times that size...and post again. Or just open up one of Paul's large size pictures in the "Appeals" thread. I'm pretty sure that is the problem he refers to, if indeed it is one.

Your pictures here are being been delivered here at a fixed size, regardless of the actual pixel domensions of the uploaded picture

The original pic I posted in the "camcorder" thread, suffered the same way..
I forgot to resize it before uploading #-o

Most comp's will be set to display screen resolution of between 640 x 480, and 1280 x 1024... when you resize your pic, keep it around 600- 700 pixels horizontally, and it should be visible by most.
I use "Photoshop" for doing this.

Nope, well not that I'm aware of anyway, basically, like John stated, the pic you click on is the same size as the original pic that was linked to the offsite hosting company, they do no resizing whatsoever, 'fraid you're gonna have to do the editing yourself after saving it to your hard drive Paul..
