When I did my 90 day report last month I was talking with a guy from Khon Kean. He had numerous 90 day reports for some of the teachers where he worked. Seems it's not necessary to physically report, only provide the info.

He had photocopies of each passport ID page, visa page, the old report receipt and the new report. The Immigration Officer checked each one, filled out his section and returned them to the guy. Better than all those people having to come to the office.

If I don't hear or receive anything by 9th or 10th I will just go.

I will let you know how I get on.

It's the 7th - not seen anything yet. Although yesterday was a holiday so ...maybe tomorrow.

fingers crossed.

You sometimes have to watch out for the local visa shop touts, who come in at 8.00am, take a handful of queue cards and disappear again, before reappearing with them later in the morning, intent on jumping the queue!! [-X

It's now the 20th. Did you ever get your 90 Day Reporting slip back in the mail?

Hi there.

Well, I waited til after Songkran and this is what happened...

On Friday 17th I went to Nong Khai after not hearing or receiving anything.

I walked in and handed them my passport and new form filled out. (It was early and not many people were there).

The woman looked at the 'slip' from last time and said 'you overstay, you pay 2000 baht'. I said, I sent the slip by EMS 2 weeks ago, and haven't heard anything'. She said 'sit down, we check'.

She was a bit curt, but I just smiled and said thankyou, and sat down.

After about 10 minutes another guy (who I have seen there before), beckoned me over to his desk and started looking at my passport and form. I still have the receipt from the EMS dated 2nd April, so I handed it to him and explained what had happened.

After looking everywhere for my letter/form, and finding nothing, the first woman came over and had a chat about it. We were polite and friendly during the whole deal.

Eventually they decided to give me another 90 days without the fine.

So obviously my guaranteed EMS letter is not so reliable after all.

I asked him if sending by mail was ok, and he said yes it was.

If anyone does decide to do 90 day reporting by post, send it by EMS and keep the receipt for proof.

Better still, do it in person!!!!

EMS lost my passport in BKK for 2 weeks ! and i had to cancel it and get a new one !!! to travel again for work. They tried to blame the Australian Postal Service, but the tracking number clearly showed the day it arrived in BKK. Udon told me to go to BKK, BKK said Udon lost it , you know the story, no blame culture ! ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)

When it did arrive, they just said sorry, no compensation , cost me 13000 B all up, plus 2 extra nights in BKK processing emergency travel documents.

EMS isnt that reliable.

Nick, you should go back to the post office and fill out a lost item report, they hate that ! and it makes them find it !!!
