Prasert fails English test



Proficiency in English is required for a law degree in Thailand and yet few lawyers in Thailand can understand the language. Indeed, it is obvious that deficient law students made deals with their instructors to get the passing marks that they did not deserve.

It is, therefore, ironic to see a former Supreme Court justice, Prasert Kieninsilli, requesting a seat on the National Counter Corruption Commission (NCCC). Prasert does not understand English. He needs a translator. He could not have gotten a law degree without resorting to corruption.

I should add that Prasert hates foreigners, especially Americans. While chief justice of the regional court in northeastern Thailand and a Supreme Court justice, he conspired with other judges to reject cases presented by foreigners and also back local complainants against them.

Read that article yesterday.Amazing,but none of the lawyers here can string together a sentence and requests on forums for a good English speaking lawyer get few answers.

Come to think of it,none of the English teachers here can string a sentence together that i can understand.

One of the problems in making the changes necessary in Gov't,is where do you draw the line on past discretions!Corruption has been a way of life in Thailand and most all underdeveloped Nations!Lies and cheating on tests are common from early childhood!

Many of the so-called educated politicians and elitist that rule this country have graduated fromprestigious foreign Universities while only just able to speak English and understanding less!How do you think they accomplished that?Undereducated and inherently ignorant people are more corruptable with power!


I would think the best candidates are those that recognize that fact,acknowledge their part,and support transparent policies!Difficult to find ,especially when the selection committee has the exact same background!

Glad he is out of the last position, could be why so may rumors were around about Thai courts. Also why the builder was so confident in our case. It is not what I saw, but it is still on the local level.

What is this guy doing now besides trying to get a new job?
