Pompey have taken their foot off the gas since they got to the FA Cup Final. They may find that they can't step up a gear to compete with Cardiff. Good form is not guaranteed, it needs to be worked on continously.

On a seperate note. I have a mate who is an avid Pompey fan and he's really pissed off with them. At the beginning of the season he had a bet on them to win the Premiership on a handicap system. I think they had a 28point start on Man U. He was on to win big money until their last five matches, when their form collapsed.

ive just got off the phone to my son in portsmouth, thought id better phone before he gets too messy as its gonna be a 12 hour binge i think. he tells me theres a rumour going round that pompey may of thrown the fulham game, im not saying its true but the rumours there. al fied and harry are mates and fulham staying up was worth at least 35 million whilst the extra place for pompey was only worth 750,000.

Yes Alan, it would be nice for him to bow out with a F.A. Cup winners. He's been a good ambassador for the REAL GAME OF FOOTBALL ( not what our friends across the pond call football). However, I would prefer it if it were a runner's up medal, but may the best team ON THE DAY!!! win.

Robstaff, best of luck to your lads, lets hope that it a good entertaining match.

well done pompey, it means a lot to the city and i guarentee they will be partying till the middle of next week, i thought a good final. what both teams lacked in silky skills they more than made up for in guts sweat and heart, and wasnt it nice to watch a game that didnt involve players throwing themselves on the deck every 2 minutes and facing off to each other over every tackle, a good clean hard contest, well refereed, and played in the true spirit of the game. pompey extra class just edged it i think, but cardiff should be proud to have made such a good game of it. a few less high crosses against the tallest defence in the league may even have got them the result.

Congratulations to Pompey & Harry Redknapp.I would say they just about deserved it on chances created but Cardiff did Wales proud and, certainly, pushed Portsmouth back in the last 15 minutes or so.
My MOM would be Diarra and for Cardiff, the right back MacNaughton, centre back Johnson and in the first half, particularily,Joe Ledley had excellent games.

Commiserations to Robtaff but if its any consolation I thought Katherine Jenkins was different class to Lesley Garrett :D

Poor Sir Bobby Robson didnt look too good.I know he's had several battles with cancer in recent years but looked as though he had some kind of stroke yesterday....a shame.

Premier League - Angry Toon fan fails to get banned

Eurosport - Thu, 26 Mar 12:35:00 2009

A disgruntled Newcastle United fan has failed in a bid to get himself banned from St James' Park by invading the pitch.

Kevin Southerton, 26, ran on to the field after Djibril Cisse scored for Sunderland in February's Tyne-Wear derby.

He told police who pursued and arrested him: "I hope I get banned. I'm sick of watching this."

Although Newcastle magistrates could have imposed a three-year banning order, they opted to fine him £200.

Defence solicitor Liz Dunbar said her client had acted impulsively and no longer wanted to be banned.

"Clearly, that was something said in the heat of the moment when he was very upset at the performance of Newcastle United," she said.

"I don't know very much about football but I understand he isn't alone in that feeling at the moment.

"Nevertheless, he has clearly changed his mind about that."

Newcastle lost 3-1 at home to Arsenal on Saturday, a result that left them languishing in the relegation zone.

I remember many years ago when I was about 12-13 years old me and 2 of my mates were climbing the wall at St James Park when we were caught by a Policeman who shouted in a very angry manner. "YOU 3 GET BACK IN THERE AND WATCH THAT MATCH. :-# :-# :-# :-# :-# :-# :-#
