proof of income of 40.000/month

Some help needed:

I seem to remember that somebody posted a scan of a document of the US embassy that stated something like:

The US embassy confirms that person Xxxx states that he has a monthly income of XXXX

I have been searching in the forum for the scan of this document and I also have been looking in the website of the US embassy in Thailand.
Can't find it any more.

can somebody help me to find this example of letter???

The document needs to be notarised by a embassy staff.
The U.S. consul will be in Udon next month. Notary services will be available as well as the form.

it is a fill in the blank form, which you recieve simply by asking. takes all of 3 minutes to fill out. no documentation needed, based on honor system, raise hand, swear to be truthful, and then notorized.

Does anyone know whether or not there is a similar system for the British Embassy?

As far as I understand it,
you can have every statement you make getting legalized in every Embassy.
It is simply a notarization of your signature under a statement that you make.
They make no judgment if this statement is true or not.
But I am sure that other members will be able to explain it much better than me.

Cookie, I understand the notarisation part, and the Ameicans seem highly organised with a standard form. Can anyone tell me whether or not the British Embassy has a similar form, and even more important whether the Thai Immigration will accept such a notarisation as documentary proof of income? Has anyone done this?

From an Aussie point of view.

I received a letter from the Australian Dept of Veterans affairs stating I receive AUd xxx each fortnight. I filled in a statuary declaration at the Aust embassy stating this to be true and also doing the conversion to a monthly and yearly payment. The embassy stamped and signed this.

This along with a letter from Bangkok bank stating I had a balance of 280k baht approx was enough for Nong khai immigration. I was applyiny for an extension to a non imm o visa.

treehugger,
If your embassy doesn't have this form,
simply copy the letter yourself,
go to the embassy and have this letter legalized (stamped).
I think that this letter will have the same legal power:
it will be a notarization of your signature, only not on a document of your embassy, but on a letter that you wrote yourself.
