Yeah just spent 20+ mins composing a message, clicked send, and it vanished, never to be seen again

I for one don't want any bloomin' Karma ..... the wife pays far too much for it anyhow

Me too stattoo....Was just able to rate a post your one above...so maybe work in progress.. but i can't see the gold stars on the post you just rated..

Perhaps it's like Air miles, you can collect little gold stars for your posts, and then exchange them for a free beer at a sponsors bar

I noticed the forum was down for a while earlier this evening, then things went a little wonky after it came back on....unusual time though, Lee must of been working late.

I'm testing out a new little script that allows users to rate topics and posts. Normally the number of posts and views indicate a topic of interest but a rating system may be a better guide.

Topics and posts can be rated by number of stars with 5 being the highest, you cannot rate your own posts and you can only vote once on each topic or post.

The rating of the topic will be displayed under the topic title. Also Karma points will be given to members based on the rating of their posts and topics.

It's in development stage at the moment, but if it works OK and there are no complaints then we'll keep it.

No not working late, just someone else working on it for me.

Lee any idea on the slowing of the site.?...in between pages and viewing a submitted post, its usually instant but since last night its got a bit slow.

You're right it's slowed the page load down a little. I guess more scripts increase processing time required to generate the listing. I'll be moving to a dedicated server shortly which will be faster and avoid this problem.
