i'm probably going to get a b0llocking from rufus for saying this - but - if
i drink white wine i enjoy the german variety , piesporter, leibframilch, nierstiener,
(bad spelling - i know)( and i nearly said blue nun which would have meant a definate
kicking from rufus) they are all very easy drinking imo. anyway overall i like the red's
better and tonight i'll be polishing off the bottle of the south african red (aniston bay).
tomorrow i'll be trying something else and will you a report on yuk (taste like crap) or
alloy (laste like heaven).

Not at all. The quality of these "low end" German wines has gone up a lot over the years.
As for top shelf stuff, the Germans make some of the finest white wines in the world, particularly when you you are looking at things like beerenauslese and tockenbeerenauslese wines.

tonights couple of glasses is a red called "Pearly Bay" - it's a western cape wine of south africa,
i will give it about 6 out of 10, it would have got 7 out of 10 except it's got a screw top - no cork.

Quite a few bottles seem to have a screw top now, being a cork man it does seem a bit 'foreign'.

I quite fancied some fine wine so I popped down to my wine merchant this evening for a bottle of my favourite tipple but they were sold out. :( :( :(
