Satellite TV Providers for U.S. Stations?

PostAuthor: sammyg » May 2, 2009, 3:52 am

I've searched through out the forum for specific information if there is a provider that gives you channels like ABC,CBS,NBC etc. not just FOX News from the U.S.? Its not that I don't care for Thai,English,Australian Football (Soccer) its just that I don't understand when your not hitting someone?Anyway someday I may grow to love it but for now I like American Football and news and wondered where I can get the most or best of this provided.Maybe if its a Sattelite dish thats ok I'd rather pay for it once if it works other than buying different smaller dishes or hooking up to something I don't want or need. All I've seen is Thai TV with BBC News and Fox and a few really old movies starting at 9pm or so.With Satellite being what it is today it should be easy to find what you want right? Thanks for any info. you can provide,SammyG \:D/

Thanks Ron I'll keep trying as I have tried for about an hour 3 times.Put in satellite tv providers,U.S. Satellite tv providers, where can I get U.S. tv stations, what is best provider to get U.S. Stations etc,etc but all I get about is computer problems watching things. Also tried looking thru computer,IT,electronics section and nothing found as yet.I'll keep trying and maybe someone out there has a good system be it a home satellite receiver or something like that as most all normal providers have BBC news,Fox News,a few Australian channelsand an olie movie channel nothing current. No new abc, cbs, nbc or even hbo and cinemax etc. that I have seen and no American actual news stations which I don't consider FOX to be its more like a commentary channel than news.SammyG

Hi, Sam.
I have got True sat. dish. I am not like you, I prefer proper football, the one that you kick the ball with your foot. That's why it is called football. Still everyone to there own. On TS sports channels the last few weeks, there has been mainly American football, baseball, basketball, beach volleyball, nascar racing, round the world yacht racing snooker, American pool etc.etc. and there are a few US news channels, I have not checked these. Also the movies are up to date, well nearly, and a good selection. I have the gold package, which you need to get the sports channels, costing approx 1,500B a month. Why not visit one of the True shops in Udon and ask for a program, this covers one months viewing, and see what you think of it. The only thing is the kids and wife want to watch Thai soap operas, so i got one of them big sat. dish, PSI, and they can watch in bedroom, about 100 channels, cost about 6,000B to buy and install, and you do not pay anything monthly. Got some news chs. and sports chs. but have not checked the rest.
Cheers Doug.

Thanks Doug for the info. I think I saw a link for maybe true tv I'll have to look back and see but the site mostly looked like older shows but maybe I wasn't looking at True? Yeah I know you die hard football lovers here my mother in law is one and you all love it.Maybe after being here awhile I will learn to enjoy it as the players in U.S. football are almost all a bunch of rich spoiled grown up kids who think they can get away with anything (kind of like movie stars). But then again maybe so are the big time players of your football!I'll give it a go anyway.Probably the best bet might be to get one of the big satellite dishes you speak of and maybe have it set to a U.S. satellite if thats possible but thanks for the info. I appreciate it!SammyG :-$

SammyG, a friend of mine (gridiron fanatic) has a Slashbox set-up with someone in the States. Go to www.slashmedia.com and you can get an idea of what it's all about. Problem is, you need a good internet connection so if you're well outside the ring road, it probably wouldn't be too good. You'd be watching your favorite US channels on your computer rather than on the TV. It's a system I'm sincerely planning to invest in, in the near future.

sammy there sat/shop across from Cat telecom in udon I do not know the name of the street stop in he will fit you a dish that has NOA I believe it called you get abc cbs nbc etc but NO FOX why I don't know
so if your getting fox on home cable you wont need it any way just a personal note watch out for that guy
he shroud salesman bring your lady with you so she can explain what he saying the dishes are fairly cheap all around 3 to 5K but I am assuming installation is extra good luck let me know I might get one also
looks like your guinea pig LOL
