mrnicey...interesting signature "I love Thailand, I love Thai people".
Part of love is also understanding. Your posts display very little understanding of either.
Or for that matter the first basic people's survival skill 'understanding human interaction'.

The cheap shots at Wansman for example show nothing but perhaps jealousy at those who have the patience, common sense, forward planning and thinking, and strong intergrity to be successful with their relationships.
Having read most of his posts I am quite confident that Wansman will be very successful with his thai lady. If he wasn't a Yank, he'd just about pass OK for a Kiwi :D
People who apply most of the basic farang rules for beginners in Thailand, as pointed out by the very knowledgeable and helpful seniors on this site; who treat Thai's as their equal and treat them as they would have themselves be treated; who can bring another culture into their life and enjoy the challenge and reward of it; who can respond to those taking cheap shots at them with rational debate have the characteristics of being successful.

Wansman shows those successful traits, as do a lot of farangs with successful marriages with thai partners that my thai wife and I have as friends and family, both in my partners home country of Thailand and here in my home country, Buddhist temple and thai society in New Zealand.

Hi Buom Pouy.

We have several mostly spread in the warmer climates of the top half of the North Island.
Our own is Wat Pak Nam (sister temple to Wat Pak Nam in Bangkok) in Welcome Bay, outskirts of Tauranga. The abbott from Bangkok is currently here....we are prying open his purse (shots down the theory that thai's don't also give) at the moment and getting plans in place to build a proper thai temple. The current one is in a large house.
It started out as a temple but is now basically everything...community meeting place, festival center (we celebrate all the thai festivals in true thai fashion), immigratation problem solving center...anything to do with thai society happens there.
The beauty is it is a great place to help thai people settle into the community without missing home too much.
Most of the thai ladies (about 150 and growing) are from Isaan with most from Udon and outskirts.

Tauranga thats great, I am from Gisborne originally and we go back once a year to see my family (well thats the excuse I can't get real kina or paua in OZ)we have a similar sistuation with the wat here in Cairns but wow the effort that gets put into building a temple in our local council is horrific I hope you guys have better luck than us. My boss (LW) wants to know for when we visit NZ next year where to get Thai ingredients usually we live on seafood for two weeks but I think she needs bha-dak (fermented fish) and Thai herbs to survive another trip.
