Site slow?

PostAuthor: Bump » April 19, 2008, 7:37 am

Sometimes it takes about five minutes before it opens I have to sign in everytime I visit even with checking the box. My hookup or something else?

For a few day at times it wouldn't accept my log in.

Not a real problem just wondering

Had the same problem yesterday. Used "Crap Cleaner" to clear out the cookies, all well now.

Crap Cleaner is a utility I used to clean cookies, temporary files etc. off your machine. It has tools to clean the registry and start up programs etc.

Free here http://www.ccleaner.com/update/

I use CCleaner also. It's very useful. It's free and can be downloaded from:

http://www.ccleaner.com/download

I also use Tune Up Utilities, with which you can review and change what programmes load up in the Start Menu, when you first turn your computer on. That can slow things down a lot. It also cleans your discs, mends things and gets rid of old unneeded files, similar to Crap Cleaner.

I was unable to sign in yesterday, until I remembered Lee's admonishment to clear out the cookies every now and then, so I went into the preferences for this browser and deleted the udonmap cookie. Blamo! I was able to sign in.

Udonmap.com is the only site with which I have noticed this problem, and I regularly visit several sites, including three forums. I wonder if this problem of corrupt or stale cookies is unique to udonmap.com? Anybody notice this problem with other sites?

Just wondering. Clearing a cookie a couple of times a year is a small price to pay for the benefits of logging onto this site.

I had difficulty logging on yesterday also.Would not accept my password.I got 2 new passwords and it would not accept them.Tried the last password given this morning and no problem.

I don't think it had anything to do with cookies! As a matter of fact ,I had been on the site earlier and when I came back to it ,the site asked me to log on again although I should have been logged on automatically! When I tried to log on again, that is when it would not accept any passwords.

I didn't have any problems with other sites log on's!

I must say I was getting similar problems to BKKStan and was unable to sign in for about 3 hours this afternoon/early evening. It requested me to sign in, (when it normally carries that forward) allowed me to key/submit my sign in, but then returned me back to the sign in screen/page each and every time.

I regularly clear my cookies, so didn't do so again. After about 3 hours it accepted my sign in again (without me having done anything different or special)!! :?

I was adjusting the cookie settings yesterday so some users may have experienced login problems. Everything should be working fine now.

We're in the process of moving to a new host at the moment due to the unreliability of the current host.
