Ok NO SMART COMMENTS GUYS

But Can you buy Solar power kits in THAILAND
I looked when I was over there but I did not know where to go or who to ask

I was on EBAY.ca
And I can buy a KIT for $400 Canada Dollars
But Where CAN I buy the Batteries YOU NEED DRY CELL BATTERIES
EVERYTHING comes in the kit BUT THE BATTERIES
It will power LIGHTS, TV, Fridge, washer just need to add more Batteries
THE SUN DOES THE REST
ANYWAY
IF YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT SOLAR POWER and IF YOU CAN BUY THE KITS IN THAILAND......
LET ME KNOW
ANY INFO WILL BE GREAT
THANKS JUSTAN

Half way direction to Khon Kaen there is a Thai German company specialises in solar and thermo voltaic technologies. There is a large sign outside. This company is there since several years.

Before spending a lot on money I would have a word with them at first.

If they don’t have (all) you need, they might be able give you another address where you can get your stuff.

A very good, long standing battery is avital - and costly item, some do need maintainance, some (better) don't.

Solar etc is increasingly popular in Thailand. Plenty items are made in China and available at very good value for money.

Justan, I haven't had any experience with 'solar power' but do have a good background in electrical/electronics. I assume the solar generator produces DC power and therefore you need a means of storing this energy? I'm not sure what the voltage levels might be but would assume 12 or 24 volts. In that case, what's wrong with using automotive batteries connected in a series/parallel bank? A properly constructed small closet would be ample room to store 1000's of amps of power. You would then need a converter to produce your AC power but that would probably be a part of the system you're considering buying.

Just random thinking... on the fly :D

Hey Pakawala
Yes YOU are partly right But the batteries must be DRY CELL I'm not sure why
Ever heard of EBAY.ca www.EBAY.com
Search Solar power LOOK FOR (THE SHOCK SHACK)
Anyway this guy tells me one solar panel puts out about 22.3 volts
In this kit he sells it comes with THREE solar panels and control board and wires to hook up
HE say's that ALL I WOULD need to buy a POWER INVERTOR ??? What is that for ?
And BATTERIES
THis kit COST about $400 CANADIAN dollars around 12,000 BAHT
And THE power invertor and I think ONE or two BATTERIES is $150 CANADIAN dollars....
THIS is the cheapest KIT I CAN FIND and HE tells me it most popular
WHAT I WORRY ABOUT IS THAT THAILAND is 220 volt and CANADA is 110
So maybe that is what a POWER invertor is ??
Am I right to say that ?

The inverter just changes the DC to AC and if you buy the inverter in Thailand, it will produce 220 AC not 110 AC like in Canada/U.S. What REALLY has my curiosity up is, WHY they MUST be dry-cells??? Must have something to do with the solar panels because the inverter could care less where the power originates. Also, you do NOT want to ship the batteries (either wet or dry) from Canada/U.S.... they will be HEAVY. Much better to buy them here. 8)

BTW, I told you wrong about the 'converter', you will want an inverter (converters change AC to DC while inverters change DC to AC  )

THANKS PAKAWALA
Yes the plane won't let me bring BATTERY on board anyway
That was why I ask about batteries

So what your telling me is THAT CANADA invertor will produce 110 volt
so that will be no good UNLESS I BUY ALOT of POWER ADAPTERS
So I must look into BUYING THAILAND 220 POWER INVERTOR
I wonder if i can buy here ....... I will look and see if I CAN I DO THAT
Maybe easier to buy here for me and just bring with me INSTEAD of traveling all over Thailand LOOKING for one
NOT sure Why they say DRY CELL.... But they say that will only do
I think it has something to do with the STORAGE or the power (KEEPING A BETTER CHARGE)
I'm kind of HAPPY about this solar power thing
Means my 2 dollar POWER BILL in Thailand can stay in my pocket....
Like i say to my dad........ It is one less BILL....
Now if I CAN FIGURE out how to get FREE water !!!!!???? 8)
THANKS SO MUCH Pakawala for your help
Justan 8)
I will go have a beer and think about all this now...
