If HM makes it to 100, does she send herself a telegram :-k By the way you could use April 25th same as us if you like. It was the day the allied forces landed at Gallipoli and god knows the Brits lost untold thousands in that campaign !!

yes we need a vote on which day to celebrate now being a complete nurd on computors I do not have a clue how to set up a survey could one of you kind gentlemen assist pick the most mentioned days and lets have survey over one month say and we can decidedd what date to celebrate being british.
organise a party and all that stuff, if the date clashes with a weekday like many events move it to the nearest saturday.
Can i also suggest that april and may get a miss as it is too damm hot to party, but being a democratic person i will go with the flow, personally I think June the 21st, but there you are.

I haven't a clue what this means either. I post about St. George's day and cr@p like this comes back, the rantings of a madman. Why wasn't this one deleted, Mods, how on earth does this add to your knowledge base?

Yes, young Khun Westerby, this meandering by Khun Paul was very confusing.

St. George's Day already exists as a day of celebration for the English, and the Queen's birthday seems a decent day for thinking oneself as being British although Canadians can partake in the celebrations, and be happy that She is our Queen too.

We used to celebrate May 24th as Empire Day, but that one has gone by the boards in recent decades.

Anyway, Khun Paul seems to be grasping at straws to find some way to note that he and others are British or nerds (nurds). It is a nice gesture on his part to send a pleasant message to Her Majesty for some unstated reason. If such a missive gets past her censors, the Queen will probably be just as mystified as the rest of us, and it will be bin bound.

This is a tough one to answer.

Send him to Bedlam or at the very least, off with his head!!! 55555

I think Kp started off saying he raised his flag pole in the yard on St G's day thought about several Dinners but had a beer then went off to bed..then went on to suggest a 'British Day' (21st June) for ex-pats of Udon to celebrate and send telegrams to her maj ......thats what i grasped of it anyway Westers.

Ok I really do not care, what you seem to think (think being the operative word here )
It was an idea that obviously noone is interested in, so MODS close this post as either offensive to those of us who hail form the uK and no longer wish to be associated with it,,or as the ravings of an old fart who has tried to get some enthusiasm into being a person who actually admits to being british. As for the rest of you........................................ [-X [-X [-X :-$

I thought thats what you was thinking....and in a shortened version(nut-shell) was explaining it to Westers..

Right.

So I'm asking whether anyone celebrated St. George's Day, St. George being the patron saint of England, and you're blathering on about being British. A little bit of advice, don't drink and post.
