My views on this are:
Lao ladies, are much the same as Thai ladies, there is good and bad, however IMO, if one ventures outside of the tourist areas of Laos, ie, Vientiane, Luang Prabang & Vang Vieng, I have found the people as a whole, to be of a far friendlier persuasion, far more welcoming & genuine, I was living 350 Klms South East of Vientiane, way out in the wilds, and I loved it, and if it were not for personal reasons, I would still be there,
The cost of living was I found, comparable with Thailand when taking all things into consideration.
The price of golf, is about the same as Thailand, the golf courses however, are not as well maintained IMO, But the caddies are better
As for the ladies being more attractive, as Pakawala stated, that comes down to personal taste!
The one down point is healthcare, IMO, its draconian, and that is the reason that the better off Lao citizens will come to Thailand for treatment, ( I could tell you some horror stories)
There are IMHO, points for and against, I think it would depend on the lady you were with, exactly the same as here in Thailand, ( the grass is always greener on the other side)
