System Tray Icons Win XP

PostAuthor: Kudjap or Bust » May 19, 2008, 1:28 pm

Does anyone know why my system tray icons, bottom right next to the clock, have all disappeared and how I get them back. It's only usually skype and MSN messenger icons and utorrent if I'm down/uploading and the printer icon when printing but i've become used to using them to open / close these programs

if you can remember the last time you saw your system tray icons , try system restore its a very simple process and normally solves most problems, if that dose not work take a look at http://winhlp.com/node/16 a very useful website for windows xp users

I was in the same position about 18 months ago and frankly gave up on them. I always trim them anyway in msconfig to stop unnecessary ones loading at startup and slowing it down.

A quick work around if you are using XP is log off. DO NOT restart just log off and immediately log on again.

Your missing icons should re-appear.

You can try this:
rightclick on the clock,
then a list appeares with different options, there should be an option to change/add/remove the icons.
