TAT promoting tourism in North and Northeast
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is promoting tourism in the North and the Northeast of the country.
TAT Governor Pornsiri Manoharn says the International Tourism Borse (ITB) 2007 in Berlin, Germany has helped generate tourism revenues to Thailand. She says MEIER, one of the major tourism agencies in Germany, has launched two tourism packages between Khon Kaen-Nakhon Ratchasima and Udon Thani-Nong Khai-Laos. The tour agency aims to sell around 10,000 packages during the first half of this year.
Mrs. Pornsiri says 126 Thai organizations, including 104 hotels, 19 tourism agencies, 2 spa operators and Siam Niramit, joined the ITB 2007. At the event, marine tourism destinations such as Phuket, Phang Nga, Samui, Pattaya and Koh Chang were at the top of the list. In addition, participants were interested in other areas of tourism in Thailand such as spa, Thai food, scuba diving and green tourism.
