Teeth Whitening

PostAuthor: mally » April 18, 2009, 3:37 pm

I was thinking of getting my teeth whitened (old age taking it's toll), is there anywhere around UT that does this ?
I've had a quick look through past posts but cannot see anything about this. Also, if there are places that do this, any experiences (Good or Bad) would be a help before I decide to go ahead.

Thanks,

Mally

Yeah, I did the tooth whitening thing last November when I was in Udon. The dentist recommended the Opalescence system that involves wearing a set of gum shields filled with a gel overnight for three weeks. It works but you have to undergo the process once a year. Can't remember how much it cost but it wasn't expensive. I'll see if I can get the name of our dentist.

sure someone mentioned 10000baht (or less) AEK do it. several differant types on the market, my Mrs had it done in UK £700 yes £700...!! (Enlighten).. gel on the teeth...blue lasered on...then regular top-ups with gum sheild and gel...was about 3 years ago, will get them re-done in Udon soon...can be done in uk now for around £150....as with all that stuff top ups needed..and 12 months go fast.

check AEK website.

search the net(uk)...lots of info and what is the best option.

Thanks for the info, I was thinking of the 1 off treatment (I think Laser for about 1 - 2 hours) as I had the Gel & gumshield overnight thing in UK and it didn't work (still bloody charged me though, about £200 ), I'll try the AEK Udon web site, if I go for it I'll let you all know the results and cost. Oh and I'm not shy, it IS for me, I don't smoke but my teeth have yellowed over the years, and that "whitening toothpaste" is useless, not a bit of difference. However, the TGF was quick to jump on the bandwaggon, "Oh Good, I will have mine done as well " !!! - Double the cost ! #-o

Mally, you might want to have another crack at the gumshield process again. My Thai dentist said that different teeth required stronger or weaker solutions to deal with the staining. But hey, up to you - maybe you could come back and tell us if the laser thing was good value?

Mally, here's BM's old thread about bleaching your gnashers. Lee put a link up on it back in 2007 so this might be of help to you.
