Thai passports.

PostAuthor: trubrit » August 16, 2008, 4:05 pm

Some good news for those thinking of getting a Thai passport or renewing an old one. Last Friday the 15th August was the official opening day for the new passport office located in City Hall. Udon Thani. No more long trips to KK. I would wait a few days before applying though as over 400 applications were received on the first day of opening.
Maybe this should be a sticky and certainly mentioned in the mag as it is a permanent office. :D

Sorry Pops, not me getting old, you must be confusing me with that guy you see in the mirror every morning.Just to clarify. The office was open for business from Friday 8th of August but as that wasn't an auspicious day the official opening was Friday 15th, when food and drinks were available along with the monks for the blessing ceremony. That may have accounted for the 400 applications on that day. Surprised you weren't there.

This is gr8 news.

Now its worth getting the Gf a passport as her family home is in NK and she can now go over the border for free and get my Botttles of Penfolds Grange Hermitage and save approx 5000 baht a bottle.

yes she can use her ID Card, but with a passport, its a straight walk thru.
