cynic that i am, i'm guessing most that live here could care less about the election, makes for small conversation, like 'anyone seen a good comedy lately', though i may be wrong, won't be the 1st time. like the one time i actually did vote in presidential election, Carter, yikes what was i thinking, but who would of thought ronnie would of turned out so good.

though i do hope clinton wins, best of the lot, only because i like Bill, without him, she wouldn't have a hope in, something like that.

as if our vote actually counts for anything. it's all done in closed doors anyway. that electorial college thing. good luck with your venture.

it would be interesting to give us some feedback on numbers of registered and voting dems in the area. 8)

U.S. DEMOCRATS ABROAD = URGENT REGISTER ON LINE B4 31 JAN!

Dear Friend,

Thanks for your interest. We with Democrats Abroad encourage you to participate in the U.S. electoral system, regardless of party affiliation. Many overseas American groups, such as Democrats Abroad, are one way to push for citizenship issues with respect to Americans abroad, their spouses and families abroad who may or may not be Americans, visa issues, maintaining the tax exempt status on foreign earned income, working to make Medicare benefits available to Americans living abroad who can not access Medicare services but who have paid in their taxes for many years, maintaining social security benefits and rights (such as the Senate Democrats working to include retirees in the rebate plan proposed recently by President Bush. Republicans Abroad share many of our same values regarding the rights of Americans living abroad.

Re candidates, we urge you to vote and make your voice heard. Democrats Abroad is seated as a State Party in the Democratic Party and has 22 elected convention delegates at the Democratic Party Presidential Nominating Convention. That is more delegates than several of the smaller states, suchd as Rhode Island, so our votes are real and do count in the nominating process. We encourage you to vote.
Regards, Mike Carroll
