I have dealt with FBI several times since moving to Udon and they are a very professional, very reasonable organisation.

Preben is very honest and knowledgable about renting, buying and selling houses (and other things I believe).

I strongly recommend them.

FBI has educated me well and steered me straight a time or two. used their services to sell house, less than a week after listing, think i set a record. fair treatment all around for buyer and sellers. very knowledgable and opened the door to a friendly land office with their knowledge and experience.

THANK YOU

In the interests of fair, balanced and unbiased reporting - the experiences of laphanphon, and Nick@UAU were not the same as mine or the previous owner of the house that my wife purchased.

The previous owner wanted to list with FBI but FBI could not get out to photograph it for two weeks. The owner ended up taking his own photographs and selling it on Udonmap. STRIKE ONE

I initially visited FBI in May of this year and got a lot of advice. It was suggested that I transfer the money that I had budgeted for my wife to buy a house directly into FBI's account because there was Thai paperwork that they were experienced with to be filled out because of "money laundering" concerns. I checked on this in early June when I applied for my visa at the Thai Consulate in LA and as one might have expected, Thailand is willing and happy to have all and any amount of money transfered into the country. I ended up transfering the funds by myself in September. The day that the money arrived in Bangkok, I got a call from the bank asking what the money was for - I told them the truth - end of the discussion and no problems. STRIKE TWO

Upon arriving in Udonthani with my visa in June, I visited FBI's office and expressed interest in one of their listings. They called but were unable to obtain the key to view the home. Later my wife got a call from FBI and we were given an appointment for a specific time the following day. We returned at the scheduled time and found the office closed. We never got a follow up call from FBI. STRIKE THREE

FBI may very well be the "best" in Udonthani but from my experience it did not make them "Good"

It is my intention after talking to ownrs of two agents in town, including FBI that I will do a programme for the best ways to buy a house and also to preserve what is and can be a extremely expensive item in ones budget in udon.
Comments about the best or worst is obviously dependent on ones thoughts and persoanal dealings with whichever agent you chose to use.
Many farangs have advice given to them and many fall by the wayside as G/f's wives and other less scrupilous people try and in many cases succeed in taking their cash or property.
While we use whomever we wish, it is known that Thai law is not easy and in some cases Thai staff are not that dependent either.
I sincerely hope that my programme which will take a few weeks to materialise will answer many questions.

Hi,
Three years ago when I arrived in Udon and had to search for a property to buy I went to FBI. I saw 2 properties that i was interested in and asked them about them. I was took to a different location and they tried to sell me a old house, on asking about the ones that i was interested in, new one's, i was told this was a better property, TIT. They took me back to their shop and I said goodbye after getting the address of the houses i wanted to see. I contacted the GF's sister and she told me she knew where one of the places was, so we went there. I liked the house and agreed to buy it. The owner of the estate was very helpful and did all the paperwork etc. I paid a deposit and said i could have the rest of the money in four to six weeks time, she said no problem and to take my time, and pay when I could. Needless to say FBI lost there commision on this deal. I told the owner about FBI and she said she would have words with them.
Cheers Doug.
