Udonmap.com - Finally moved to new server!

PostAuthor: lee » February 11, 2009, 6:14 pm

OK, we've finally moved udonmap.com over to a new web host. It's taken a while to sort out and 80% is now finally up and running. The forum should be working fine, although a few members stored session cookies may have been lost during transfer. Therefore if you're having problems logging in clear your cookies via the browser or via the board at the bottom of the page, and then try again.

The old classifieds section has a few bugs but over the next few days will be replaced by a new system.

A new front-end is in place but has not been bridged with the forum yet, therefore you will not be able to login via the new front page yet. The next step will be moving the new front end to root and creating a forum to front-end bridge. I hope to have this finished by tomorrow morning.

There will of course be a few bugs along the way while I continue to work on this and I appreciate everyone's patience during this process.

If you notice any bugs along the way please point them out to me, it will be much appreciated.

A note to new sponsors that joined us in January 2009: Information about your businesses will be posted over the next few days, thanks for your patience.

Cheers, Lee

Lee thanks for the changes on my webpage, also I like the new look, now is to get use to the way of doing things on UDonmap. I will let know more as time goes by and I get use to it....but it does look good. Has there been any changes in the way of posting threads, pictures or movies?

Cheers Pop's. Everything should work as it did on the old server. The only difference will be the new front end, more storage/bandwidth and a unique IP.

The domain name was registered with a new IP and normally takes 12-24 hours to propagate or instantly on some ISP's. Therefore some users will be able to access the new site and others will still be on the old site with maintenance message over the next few hours.

Hopefully by tomorrow the domain will be full propagated and everyone will be able to view the new site.

Really like the new front page Lee.
Only criticism - there is so much reading/information on it that it will take me longer to get to the Forum while I browse there. :D :D

I've had ......"stack overflow at line 0" 3 times in the last five mins. don't know if it's the new server or my computer that is to blame.

Are you using IE or Firefox Statto?

OOps posted that and didn't see your update at 10.19pm.

When you try to open multiple modal dialog boxes in Internet Explorer, or in Mshta.exe (an HTML program), you may receive a stack overflow error message.

This problem may occur if the number of modal dialog boxes exceeds the amount of memory (the stack file) that is permitted for modal dialog boxes.

This problem may occur more frequently in Mshta.exe because the stack file in Mshta.exe is smaller than the stack file in Internet Explorer.

Move to Firefox... Welcome to the revolution.

You are talking to the completely uninitiated moron computer operater here
What the F is firefox when it's out (or in for that matter).
I use what they give me to use when I buy the bloomin equipment ......... if I try to change something it will end in disaster ...... it always does

By the way I didn't TRY to open multiple boxes, they opened for me ..... at ever slower speeds

Firefox the Internet browser that is challenging IE's monopoly. Time for change!

Click on dis link: http://filehippo.com/download_firefox/

Top right corner click download latest version beside green arrow (7.17MB), download it then install it. Go on, you know it makes sense!

Lee,

I tried to upload a picture (to show Statto what the FF desktop icon would look like) I got this error message..

Could not upload attachment to ./files/193_ccb003b662ec4afc66bbed5088175cbd.

That was not using ImageShack.....
