looking at the stats ThaiV does not have much of a lead over Udonmap ! the mods on there drove it into the ground over the years ,that takes real skill .

I don't read Thai Visa to be honest, heard lots about it and its Draconian Moderators but I haven't got much of an interest because it's a general forum. In contrast, the Udon Map Forum is exactly what it says on the tin.

What absolute nonsense, izzie. :^o What stats are you looking at?

Registered members: UM has 12,235 TV has 75,490

Total posts: UM 158,089 TV 2.7m

Most users online at one time: UM 212 TV 8,354

Online now (or last hour): UM 65 TV 1522

Posts by top poster: UM (Beer Monkey) 12,398 TV (Dr Pat Pong) 34,092

I am sure even Lee and the Mods would agree that UM is still a long way short of TV when it comes to quantity. Quality, of course, is in the eye of the reader.

I'll offer another suggestion that for many was also the reason to depart the aforementioned
forum. Obnoxious advertising. Sponsors not only with blazing flash banners but opening mulitple
threads self-promoting there businesses without any restraint? Sort of skews the impartial aspect
of things? I suppose why forum rules & agreements, out of necessity are turning into legalese?

TV is for all of Thailand and UM mainly deals with the residents and visitors to Udon. I'm more interested in the going ons in Udon. And if I need any information about other parts of Thailand we have too many experts right here.

Key Points:
Quality, of course, is in the eye of the reader.
Quality is usually preferable to quantity.
"the Udon Map Forum is exactly what it says on the tin." - well nearly, if you exclude the many threads related to American Politics, Global warming, and other global issues! ;)

I thought we had a thread about almost the same thing a few weeks ago!

I only posted on there once Westers when the Andaman news was filming at the Airport filming Tourists arriving with the headline Welcome to Phuket your island paradise starts here. Ha I asked why dont thet tell the new tourists the real truth about phuket and how much money they will get fleeced off them while there in there island paradise.
To which a mod called living in kata not only told me i could not post that sort of bad publicity but immediatly the thread was closed. And to seal it he sent me a pm with a warning that anymore derogitary posts will result in a ban mmm not been on there since Westers the udonmap all the way for me now.

Yes, yes, you know what I mean. Aside from threads about Mexican swine 'flu and whether Obama is a good egg or not, there exists thin seams of good information that we can all use because we have Udon in common.

Well I hope you learnt your lesson, young man. Sounds like your TV Moderator suffered a sense of humour failure and decided to exercise his mandate to the full degree, you can seek comfort in the fact that he was probably bullied by fat school girls in his childhood. Our Moderators maybe a little eccentric and even quirky but they will listen to us so keeping their feet firmly on the ground. Still got to see Kev47 moderate though, he might be a moderating meglamaniac.
